U-Turn Made

Well I did really good for my first day back on program.  I was even more surprised when I got on the scale this morning and found out I lost 5.2lbs.  I am sure some water too but hey it is back in the right direction.

Been Off Program - Restart

Been off program...I really can't say what happened and what caused me to loose my way.  I was doing so well and was down to 195lbs at the middle of May.  I just stopped journaling and slowly just started eating whatever I wanted.  I stopped taking my Phentermine and Metformin.  All not good.  I was also working out at least 3 times a week and stopped doing that as well. I have been doing this since the end of May and now we are at the beginning of August and I am back to 220lbs.  Can't believe I let all that hard work go too waste.

Yesterday, I just hit my breaking point and realized it had to stop so today is my first day back on my Metformin for the metabolic syndrome, my Phentermine 37.5mg and I am using MyFitnessPal.com to journal my 800 calories a day.  I am also taking my Lipotropic Injections to help with weight loss called Trim Max AC (Trim Max is a great choice for losing weight and helps make your body lean. It compliments those who are on a strict diet or exercise program and works well with other Trim products such as Trim Calm and Glutathione injections.) It also helps with keeping my energy up and getting me through workouts.

Hopefully by the next time I post I will be going back in the right direction.

Right Direction

As a result of being sick for the last three weeks sick and being off program and medication, I sadly gained weight back. Though I am finally happy to say past week I am down to 217.4lbs. Which is just 3lbs from where I was before being sick. Happy the weight I gained in those three weeks is coming back off. I am feeling much better.

Trying to Move Forward

I am so down and dissapointed over gaining back almost 15lbs in total in just over 3 weeks time.  Stinks that this setback of having the kidney stone was in the beginning of my weight loss when I was doing so well.

Anyways, I have been really trying the past week to get back on program with my diet.  I started taking my Phentermine 30mg again as of yesterday and I am going back on the Metformin as of today.  I was glad to see after this week that I lost 2 lbs that I had gained.  It's a start.  I just have to get back some more of that determination I had...it just feels like I lost some of it.  I won't give up and will give it my best.  The weight didn't come on overnight so it will take time for it to come off.

Setback...

Well had a bit of a setback the past couple of weeks. I started out with nausea and vomiting and it went on for a few days then ended up in an ambulance on my way to the hospital with severe back pain which ended up being a kidney stone....OUCH!! I was admitted to the hospital overnight and was finally stable to go home the next evening. Then after a few days I ended up in pain all over again and went to my doctor who ended up calling an ambulance for me and another evening spent in the emergency room. I was released on some pain meds and I am finally doing better. I unfortunately have gained back some weight but I am not going to let that get me down as I have worked too hard. I am hoping to start back on my diet and exercise with my doctors permission when I go to the doctor but not until March 25th. I realize it is just a minor setback which I am sure will happen for what ever reason but I know I can do this and won't give up!

Week 7

Well I did amazing this week. I lost another 8.9lbs. So a total loss of 27.2lbs!! Worked out 3 times this week but added the strength training for 30 minutes, exercise bike for 10 minutes then 60 minutes on the treadmill. So I am making the most of my workouts. It has also been a big help being on the Phentermine 30mg. It really helps me not to have the urges of hunger. Especially when my 14 year old decided to take up baking....there have been sugar cookies, brownies, cupcakes....ugh! It sure smells good though. I didn't have any though, so I am proud of myself. I want to be thinner and healthier. We are going out to dinner for Valentine's Day at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. I have already searched the menu and know exactly what I will be eating and what to ask for to be put on the side. I want to enjoy my night out but not blow it by eating something that will set me back.

The doctor also told me this week I have metabolic syndrome and started me on a medication called Metformin 500mg which I am to take once a day. Metformin stops the liver from metabolising fats and sugars (carbs) so less fat is created in the body. It also keeps the body from producing too much insulin which makes people hungry all the time and leads to obesity especially belly fat. The bottom line is that Metformin makes you lose weight and curbs hunger. For obese people this weight loss can be significant and life changing. So far I haven't had any side effects from taking it which is good as she told me she may increase the dosage following another blood test.

I am feeling good and I really am happy watching the scale move in the right direction. I have the determination and motivation to keep on trying.

Week 6 Workout

Went to Planet Fitness today. Had the trainer at the gym show me how to do the 30 minute circuit training routine. It is good for strength and muscle building. I was glad he went over everything with me as I was too intimidated to use the machines as I didn't want to look stupid doing something wrong and I also didn't want to hurt myself. My session With the trainer made me feel more confident to be able to do it on my own. Afterwards, I did 10 minutes on the elliptical machine and then did one hour on the treadmill. I feel like I got a great workout today!

Week 6

Today was my first weigh in since starting at the Long Island Weight Loss Center in Westbury. I lost 6.5lbs and weighed in at 230.5lbs!  I am officially down 18.3lbs since the start of the new year!

I did good all week working out 3x this week at the gym.  I did two days 60 minutes on the treadmill and then 1 day I was able to go 70 minutes on the treadmill!  I believe it was about 10 miles in total!!Go me!!  Working out also helps me to drink tons of water.

To eat I had my protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and my snack bars.  They honestly are very filling. I also did very well eating up to 550 calories for dinner.  I even had one night where I had a huge garden salad and two slices of pizza and still lost but they were in my calories for the evening.  I wasn't too hungry but had some times where I can say it was hard.

To aid with the hunger I did experience, the doctor started me today on an appetite suppressant called Phentermine 30mg.  I only have to take it once a day.  I also started on Lipotropic injections.  They help with energy lots of B-12 something I need as I don't produce enough on my own anyways, and other chemicals to help metabolize the fat in the body.  To save some money, since shots can be $40 each in the doctors office, I found a place online that sells them and I can give the injections to myself twice a week.  The place is called Trim Nutrition.  It ends up costing only $22.60 per shot.   It's a big savings! No prescription is needed.   I ordered them today and should have them by the time I need my next injection on Thursday.  The company was very helpful on the phone and steered me to the right injection for my need.  This is what it is if you are curious.

This TRIM proprietary compound is a great choice for leaning and weight loss, especially for those on strict diets or exercise programs. This injection contains the popular nucleotide Adenosine (ATP or also called Myoden). Adenosine occurs naturally in the body to help with energy and metabolism- Trim Max AC will give you an additional boost! It also contains the same lipotropic amino acids as our Trim Original Injection. Trim Max AC is recommended in conjunction with Trim CALM and Trim Glutathione injections for the added muscle repair and antioxidative qualities.

Ingredients:
Adenosine-5-Triphosphate 25mg, L-Carnitine 50mg, Choline Chloride 50mg, Inositol 50mg, Methionine 25mg, Methylcobalamin 0.5mg per ml solution.
*** This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or mitigate any disease.

Week 5

Well I didn't do as bad as I thought especially with eating out for my birthday.  I am down another -1.4lbs and weigh 237.    I also did start going to The Long Island Weight Loss Institute, NY.  I just felt I needed a little more direction and understanding to help me with my weight loss journey.  I am on a modified plan which is a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and then a snack protein snack bar for afternoon snack.  Then a up to a 550 calorie dinner.  So my caloric intake for the day is 800-1000 calories.  The doctor I saw there was Dr. Debra Greenfield.  She was very kind, and spent over an hour talking with me.  She also did an EKG then heard a heart murmur while listening to my heart so she sent me for an echocardiogram.   I went yesterday and should have the results by the time of my next visit on Monday, February 4, 2013.  She is also checking my blood work, past EKG and giving me a full workup to get a complete understanding of my medical history which will help her to help me with my weight loss.

Week 4

Lost another 2.6lbs this week and weigh 238.4 lbs. I have started back to Planet Fitness Gym 2-3 days a week and doing at least one hour on the treadmill. I am a little concerned because this is my birthday week and I will be going out to dinner. Plan on filling up on salad and then my meal. My favorite is the Yankee Pot Roast with gravy and mashed potatoes.  I don't want to deprive myself as special occasions do come up and I want to enjoy them but I will be careful at the same time not to overindulge. We'll see how it goes next week!

Week 3

Week 2

Off to a good start with a weight loss of  -6.4lbs and a weight of 242.4lbs.  I have to say I am pretty happy the numbers are going in the right direction for once.  I did fight with some hunger at times while lowering my calories to 1000 each day.  Bread is the hardest for me but I am only choosing to have it once and a while.  I have also taken most carbs out of my dinners having just a protein with a vegetable.
