Well I did amazing this week. I lost another 8.9lbs. So a total loss of 27.2lbs!! Worked out 3 times this week but added the strength training for 30 minutes, exercise bike for 10 minutes then 60 minutes on the treadmill. So I am making the most of my workouts. It has also been a big help being on the Phentermine 30mg. It really helps me not to have the urges of hunger. Especially when my 14 year old decided to take up baking....there have been sugar cookies, brownies, cupcakes....ugh! It sure smells good though. I didn't have any though, so I am proud of myself. I want to be thinner and healthier. We are going out to dinner for Valentine's Day at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. I have already searched the menu and know exactly what I will be eating and what to ask for to be put on the side. I want to enjoy my night out but not blow it by eating something that will set me back.
The doctor also told me this week I have metabolic syndrome and started me on a medication called Metformin 500mg which I am to take once a day. Metformin stops the liver from metabolising fats and sugars (carbs) so less fat is created in the body. It also keeps the body from producing too much insulin which makes people hungry all the time and leads to obesity especially belly fat. The bottom line is that Metformin makes you lose weight and curbs hunger. For obese people this weight loss can be significant and life changing. So far I haven't had any side effects from taking it which is good as she told me she may increase the dosage following another blood test.
I am feeling good and I really am happy watching the scale move in the right direction. I have the determination and motivation to keep on trying.
